FSG Designs And Provides New LED Lighting For The Goethels Bridge

The Port Authority of NY and NJ, which operates the historic Goethals Bridge, required a lighting upgrade for its roadway, toll plaza, and buildings. The challenge was to modernize the outdated and inefficient system. Facility Solutions Group (FSG) was engaged to design and provide a comprehensive LED lighting retrofit to address this need.

Facility Solutions Group designed the solution, which involved replacing 829 old HPS and HID fixtures with new, efficient LED lighting. FSG supervised the installation and validated the results with light readings. The project achieved significant results, including annual energy savings of $44,225 and a reduction of 266,576 kWh per year. Furthermore, the new LED lighting vastly improved color quality and extended fixture life, which will drastically reduce future maintenance costs for the Port Authority.
