Case Study: NWB Verlag achieves intuitive XML creation and eliminates manual post-processing with Fabasoft Xeditor

NWB Verlag - Customer Case Study

NWB Verlag, a German specialized publishing house focused on tax law, commercial law, and accounting, had already automated parts of its single-source publishing workflow with XML, but converting content from external authors delivered in MS Word into publisher-specific XML structures still required extensive manual work. More than 90% of the content needed manual post-processing, so the company looked for a browser-based XML editor that would feel intuitive to Word users; the vendor Fabasoft, through its Xeditor product, was selected after an internal evaluation.

Fabasoft implemented Xeditor in NWB Verlag’s self-developed authoring platform so authors could create and edit content directly in XML from anywhere, with offline editing supported and synchronization to the CMS via the browser. The result was a much smoother content-first workflow: conversion routines and manual post-processing were eliminated, content could be processed immediately after approval, and authors could work in a way that required hardly any change compared with MS Word.
