Heise Medien GmbH & Co. KG, one of Germany’s leading tech publishers, wanted to overhaul its “print first” magazine production process so it could repurpose content more efficiently across print and digital channels. Working with Fabasoft and its Xpublisher online editorial system, the company set out to standardize workflows, reduce manual administrative work, and improve production speed and consistency across titles.

Fabasoft implemented Xpublisher and helped Heise Medien migrate and optimize its existing process into an InDesign-based workflow through workshops, simulations, and agile integration with in-house systems. The results included standardized processes company-wide, faster production, and better quality: the first issue of c’t was produced in 9 days instead of the usual 10, and Heise later rolled out additional magazines on a steady schedule while gaining more flexibility for new content products and future growth.
