Vivo Uses F5 Solutions for the New Vivo Secure Web Application Service

Vivo, a large Brazilian telecom provider, built the Vivo Secure Web Application to offer cloud-based security for small- and mid-sized businesses but faced challenges: web applications were vulnerable to attacks, customers couldn’t monitor threats, security tools didn’t scale, and many clients lacked IT expertise. To solve this, Vivo partnered with F5 Networks and selected F5 Networks’ BIG-IP Application Security Manager (ASM) to underpin the new managed security service.

F5 Networks delivered BIG-IP ASM via a proof-of-concept and preconfigured, continually updated protocol templates and scripts deployed in Vivo’s Security Operation Centers, enabling fast, consistent deployments and fewer false positives. The solution scales from four web applications at up to 600 TPS to ten applications at 1,600 TPS, allowed Vivo to activate security policies in days, provided F5-trained Vivo staff for support, and blocked attackers from accessing customers’ critical data.
