CSG, a provider of customer engagement services for the telecommunications and cable industry, was dealing with aging manual processes, limited visibility into changes, and infrastructure instability. The team also needed more flexibility than its fixed hardware setup could provide as it modernized operations and prepared for cloud environments.
Using F5 Networks products including BIG-IP Virtual Editions, F5 iApps, BIG-IQ, and an F5 enterprise licensing agreement, CSG moved key infrastructure into source code, added self-service deployment workflows, and improved monitoring and change tracking. The result was greater application visibility, smaller failure groups, and faster recovery: when a change breaks something, mean time to repair can now be minutes instead of hours, and an outage that used to affect all products now impacted only one product.
