A F5 Networks Case Study
The University of Southern Queensland (USQ) needed to give its 28,000 students—more than 60% studying online—reliable, 24/7 access to web applications while improving security and reducing network disruptions. To achieve single sign‑on and stronger access management, USQ turned to F5 Networks, implementing BIG‑IP Access Policy Manager (APM) and BIG‑IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) to address SSO, uptime, and cybersecurity challenges.
F5 Networks deployed BIG‑IP APM to provide unified SSO and BIG‑IP LTM (with ASM capabilities) to intelligently balance and protect traffic, enabling automatic sign‑on across applications, deflecting DDoS attacks, and consolidating authentication infrastructure. The result: reliable 24/7 access for USQ’s 28,000 users, fewer password resets and IT support requests, improved application performance and security, and lower operational costs.
