Case Study: Turkish Airlines achieves 50% faster application performance and 90% less IT management with F5 Networks' BIG-IP LTM

A F5 Networks Case Study

Preview of the Turkish Airlines Case Study

Turkish Airlines Improves Application Performance by 50 Percent

Turkish Airlines, a major global carrier that provides online booking, check‑in and itinerary management, was struggling as growing web traffic overloaded servers: business‑critical applications were failing, customer experience degraded, and IT costs rose. To resolve this, Turkish Airlines engaged F5 Networks and its BIG‑IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) application delivery controllers.

F5 Networks deployed three BIG‑IP LTM devices (6900, 3900, 1600) across two data centers, using SSL offload, compression and iRules for traffic management and security. The rollout cut server load by about 40% and compressed data by 70%, delivering a 50% improvement in application response times, a 3.5‑second faster main site load, a 90% reduction in network management time, greater encryption capacity, lower bandwidth and server costs, and an anticipated ROI of roughly one year.
