TEPCO SYSTEMS Builds a Cloud Environment for Developers and Trims Costs

TEPCO SYSTEMS needed to lower costs and accelerate software development by moving partner development into the cloud, but was concerned about securing communications and terminals for offshore collaborators. To address this, TEPCO SYSTEMS selected F5 Networks’ F5 BIG-IP Access Policy Manager to provide secure, manageable access to cloud-based development environments.

F5 Networks deployed BIG-IP APM as a virtual appliance on AWS, enabling terminal quarantining without per-client certificates, one‑time passwords and SSL VPN access. The solution let TEPCO SYSTEMS scale offshore development (about 60 partner developers as of August 2015, mostly in China), cut environment provisioning time from roughly two months to as little as one week, reduce operational burden and costs, and strengthen secure access to Office 365.
