Case Study: Proact achieves 50% cost savings and secure, highly available remote Microsoft Exchange access with F5 Networks

A F5 Networks Case Study

Proact targets 50% cost saving from virtualised F5 platform

Proact, a European storage integrator with 640 employees and many remote workers, needed secure, highly available access to its Microsoft Exchange system after its legacy access appliance reached end-of-life. To consolidate its virtualised Swedish data centre and improve security and scalability, Proact chose F5 Networks’ virtualised application delivery solutions — BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) Virtual Edition and BIG-IP Access Policy Manager (APM) Virtual Edition.

AddPro implemented the F5 Networks BIG-IP LTM and APM virtual appliances, enabling two-factor authentication, DDoS protection and consistent high availability while simplifying the network footprint. The solution halved running costs versus the previous appliance and is expected to reduce total cost of ownership by 50% over the first three years, delivering more robust, easier-to-manage remote access to Microsoft Exchange.
