Philippines Government Social Security Organization Secures e-Services

GSIS, the Philippines Government Social Security System, needed to securely roll out its first member-facing e-service (eGSISMO) and protect its website and member data while preparing for potential usage by its two million+ members. To meet these requirements GSIS engaged F5 Networks, deploying BIG-IP modules (APM, LTM, AFM) plus SWG and F5’s Web Application Firewall to replace its legacy web proxy and provide a one-stop solution for secure application delivery.

F5 Networks implemented a compact BIG-IP-based platform (three appliances versus a competing 12‑server proposal) that delivers full-spectrum DDoS defense with sub‑second detection and mitigation, WAF protection, and consolidated traffic analytics. The solution now protects five service applications, serves about 20,000 active members daily, gives GSIS single‑dashboard visibility into traffic and attacks, and enabled electronic billing and payment workflows that reduced reconciliation work and sped up benefit and loan processing.
