National Insurance Institute of Israel Optimizes Security and Network Performance with F5

The National Insurance Institute of Israel (NII) provides critical social benefits and relies on web services to deliver sensitive personal and financial information. Faced with strict Privacy Act requirements, slow page loads (up to 45 seconds), and the need for secure remote access and capacity-on-demand, NII evaluated solutions and selected F5 Networks’ BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) with the Application Security Manager (ASM) module to combine security, performance, and simplified management.

F5 Networks implemented BIG-IP LTM with ASM to provide intelligent load balancing, web-application security, caching, compression, SSL offload, and TCP optimization. The deployment now handles more than 10,000 user requests per day (a 50% increase in usage), reduced initial page load times to about seven seconds, improved availability and continuity, and passed external security testing — while delivering secure remote access and strong ongoing support from F5 Networks.
