MakeMyTrip Improves Its Conversion Rate with F5 Application Delivery Controllers

MakeMyTrip, India’s leading online travel portal, faced growing traffic and legacy infrastructure bottlenecks that caused high server load, SSL overload, and elevated drop-off rates—threatening conversion and revenue. To address this, MakeMyTrip engaged F5 Networks and deployed F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) application delivery controllers to provide load balancing, SSL offload, caching, and session management.

F5 Networks implemented four BIG-IP ADCs across two data centers and used iRules for user tracking and personalization. The deployment reduced system load by up to 30%, eliminated backend failures, provided SSL capacity up to 20,000 transactions per second, and cut drop-off rates by 4–5%, driving higher conversion rates and increased revenue.
