Joors, a Swedish web pioneer focused on connecting underserved populations, faced the challenge of bringing affordable, desirable and secure Internet access to emerging markets constrained by hardware, infrastructure and cost. To overcome the need for agility, speed and policy-driven services, Joors partnered with F5 Networks and deployed F5’s BIG-IP LTM and BIG-IP PEM platforms.

F5 Networks implemented BIG-IP LTM to simplify, automate and ensure fail‑over application delivery and BIG-IP PEM to enforce policies, give subscriber insight and manage traffic in a fully virtualized, hardware‑independent environment controlled remotely from Sweden. The solution enabled ad‑funded and tiered business models, proved successful in a TeliaSonera pilot in Nepal and is operational in Sweden, while delivering carrier‑grade scalability (up to 320 Gbps L7 throughput and support for more than 24 million concurrent subscribers on a single platform), improved uptime and dynamic capacity management.
