Jeju Air Ensures Scalable and Secured Ssl Web Application With F5

Jeju Air, the fastest-growing major airline in Korea, faced repeated SSL traffic surges and service bottlenecks during online promotions and needed stronger web-application security and DDoS protection. After its legacy ADC struggled with session and SSL handling, Jeju Air evaluated F5 Networks and its BIG-IP LTM and BIG-IP ASM to improve SSL performance, availability, and web-application security.

F5 Networks ran a live POC and deployed BIG-IP LTM and BIG-IP ASM, using FPGA/SSL-chip acceleration to offload SSL and L4 processing, plus an integrated WAF for L7 threat detection. The result: Jeju Air handled traffic 2.4× faster than its previous solution, achieved nearly fivefold better cost-effectiveness versus competitors, reduced server overload, and gained real-time protection against SQL injection, XSS and DDoS attacks.
