Integrated F5 Solution Supports Critical Applications, Enhances Patient Care

Healthcare Organization is a large academic medical center that treats millions of patients and employs about 60,000 staff, but relies on a three-person IT team to deliver and manage thousands of critical administrative and clinical applications. Facing aging Cisco ADCs that limited availability, slowed application change requests, and lacked secure mobile access, the organization evaluated vendors and selected F5 Networks—deploying BIG-IP LTM, BIG-IP APM and F5 Enterprise Manager (with plans for BIG-IP ASM and GTM) to meet its availability, performance and security needs.

F5 Networks implemented an integrated BIG-IP environment (LTM/APM/Enterprise Manager) plus iRules, enabling centralized management, faster application changes, and improved security controls; the deployment now handles about 31 million client requests per day and 9 TB of throughput, supports roughly twice as many new applications without increasing staff, and delivers higher availability and faster response times that directly support better patient care.
