Global Legal Services Company Simplifies IT Environment, Streamlines Federation with F5 Solution

Epiq, a global provider of legal services and technology, needed to integrate Microsoft Office 365 into its infrastructure while reducing IT labor, costs, and complexity and ensuring secure, federated access for internal and external users. To meet those goals Epiq selected F5 Networks and deployed the BIG‑IP platform—specifically BIG‑IP APM, BIG‑IP LTM, and BIG‑IP DNS—to unify application access, manage SSL certificates, and route authentication for Office 365.

Using F5 Networks’ BIG‑IP solutions (with help from F5 Professional Services), Epiq replaced Citrix gateways, avoided a full ADFS deployment, and implemented conditional access and strict PowerShell egress controls so Office 365 administration is only possible from authorized points. The result is a simpler, more flexible, cost‑effective IT environment that reduced rollout complexity (the F5 federation guide was a three‑page, near‑no‑rollout approach versus months for ADFS), lowered operational overhead, and streamlined application deployment across the data center.
