Global Consulting Firm Gives Employees Reliable, Around-the-Clock Email Access

Dar Al-Handasah is an international project design, management, and consulting group with 6,300 employees in 45 offices across 29 countries. Facing the need for zero downtime and reliable, around-the-clock access to Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 (including large 50 MB CAD attachments) for a widely mobile workforce, Dar Al-Handasah selected F5 Networks and its BIG‑IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) to support and optimize their Exchange environment.

F5 Networks deployed a redundant pair of BIG‑IP LTM appliances, leveraging iApps templates and the iHealth diagnostic service to load-balance, optimize, and secure traffic to Exchange Client Access Servers while enabling the migration of more than 1,500 mailboxes. The implementation delivered measurable impact—100% system reliability/zero downtime, improved performance through caching and TCP optimization, simplified administration with seamless maintenance, and scalability to support future growth.
