ELCA Provides Highly Available, Online, Peak Load Protection Based on F5 Solutions

ELCA, an independent Swiss IT services group and creator of the SecuTix 360° ticketing platform, faced frequent peak‑time surges—thousands of concurrent users, ticketing overloads for major events, and inaccurate wait‑time reporting—that threatened online sales and customer experience. To solve this, ELCA built PeakProtect using F5 Networks technology, choosing F5 Networks BIG‑IP Application Delivery Controllers and related modules as the foundation.

PeakProtect uses F5 Networks BIG‑IP LTM for load balancing plus BIG‑IP APM and ASM for access control and WAF, intercepting and queuing excess traffic, calculating wait times, blocking bots, and returning users to the shop when capacity allows. The F5 Networks‑based solution eliminated crashes and slowdowns, improved wait‑time transparency, and supported high‑volume events (e.g., Paléo Festival sold over 20,000 tickets in 12 minutes) while helping manage more than 30 million ticket sales annually.
