Datametrix Soars Into the Cloud With a Reliable and Secure Platform for Hosted Communications Services

Datametrix, a long-established Norwegian IT reseller now part of Telenor, needed to launch cloud-based hosted communications services but required a highly available, secure and easy-to-manage platform to balance traffic across two datacentres, prevent DDoS attacks, support single sign-on and scale with rapid subscriber growth. To meet this challenge, Datametrix chose F5 Networks, deploying F5’s VIPRION 2400 chassis with BIG-IP modules (Local Traffic Manager, Advanced Firewall Manager, Access Policy Manager) plus Global Traffic Manager Virtual Edition to provide load balancing, security and authentication.

F5 Networks’ solution allowed Datametrix to quickly roll out Microsoft Lync and its Datametrix Business Cloud with automatic failover, strong DDoS mitigation and simplified user access, while enabling maintenance without customer downtime. The platform delivered measurable results: over 200 hosted customers and more than 40,000 end users, 100% service availability, easier operations and the ability to expand into Sweden, driving new revenues and scalable business growth.
