Cyberagent Implements Private Cloud Solution With F5’s Viprion to Strengthen Development Environment and Improve Speed and Flexibility

CyberAgent, a leading Japanese internet services company best known for its Ameba blogging and social networking site, faced growing demands as its services shifted from static content to dynamic content like games and video. Public clouds were used extensively but proved suboptimal for cost-performance and the high compute and traffic needs of new services, so CyberAgent sought a high cost-performance firewall and load‑balancer solution. The company chose F5 Networks and deployed the VIPRION platform along with BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) and BIG-IP Advanced Firewall Manager (AFM).

F5 Networks implemented VIPRION’s modular, high-performance ADC and BIG-IP LTM/AFM, enabling seamless scalability (hot-add performance blades), API-driven load balancer creation, and consolidation of multiple LTMs and firewalls on a single platform. The result was a 4x increase in SSL processing capacity, lower LB/FW costs, faster service launches, and a more flexible private/hybrid cloud development environment—improving speed, scalability, and operational reliability for CyberAgent.
