Crédit Coopératif Secures Its Online Banking Services with F5 BIG-IP Application Security Manager

Credit Cooperatif is a French cooperative bank serving SMEs, associations and private clients through 75 branches and extensive online services. Facing the need to stay ahead of emerging application-security threats while maintaining high availability and fast rollouts for transaction-heavy J2EE applications, Credit Cooperatif selected F5 Networks and its BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) with the BIG-IP Application Security Manager (ASM) module to provide an infrastructure-level, centralized security and delivery platform.

F5 Networks deployed BIG-IP LTM with BIG-IP ASM for application firewalling, SSL acceleration/termination and traffic management, using iRules to optimize Java session persistence and custom application behavior. The solution processes about one million requests per day (peaking at ~1,200 HTTP/HTTPS connections per second, ~85 KB/page), delivered easier centralized administration, faster deployments without lengthy development cycles, measurable performance improvements and reduced total cost of ownership while enabling proactive, policy-driven protection for Credit Cooperatif’s online banking services.
