CoStar Streamlines Authentication and Increases Application Availability with F5 Solution

CoStar Group, a commercial real estate information company managing massive property data and serving brokers, investors and enterprises, faced time-consuming authentication for thousands of internal users, the need to keep customer-facing apps available 24/7, and to improve application performance and customization. To address this, CoStar turned to F5 Networks and its BIG‑IP family (BIG‑IP APM, BIG‑IP LTM and BIG‑IP DNS).

F5 Networks implemented BIG‑IP APM for single sign‑on, BIG‑IP LTM/DNS for load balancing, SSL offload and web compression, plus customizable iRules for traffic routing. The deployment centralized authentication (eliminating repeated logins across five or six cloud apps), ensured high availability with HA pairs so customer apps remain accessible, reduced response times through compression, and gave CoStar flexible, real‑time traffic control — delivering measurable gains in efficiency, availability and user experience.
