BlueLock Launches Unique Virtual Cloud Computing Platform Using VMware Virtualization and F5 BIG-IP LTM

BlueLock, a managed technology services company and early provider of IaaS virtual cloud computing, needed a way to deliver fast, on‑demand capacity without the capital expense and provisioning delays of traditional IT. To maintain performance, availability and accurate utilization data as virtual machines dynamically came online and offline, BlueLock chose F5 Networks technologies—deploying VMware ESX/VirtualCenter for virtualization and F5’s BIG‑IP LTM for intelligent traffic management and SSL offload.

Using F5 Networks’ BIG‑IP LTM alongside VMware across two data centers, BlueLock automated rapid provisioning, load balancing and SSL offload, and fed detailed network metrics into its provisioning algorithms and client Vital Signs portal. The solution delivered seamless scaling during traffic surges (e.g., a sudden national TV‑driven spike), improved server efficiency and availability, and enabled new sales/upsell opportunities—boosting monthly recurring revenue by up to 15% while preserving high performance and reliability.
