Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue Cross Blue Shield), the area’s largest health benefits provider serving more than 880,000 members and operating a site with 30,000+ daily hits, needed to ensure high availability, strong application security, and HIPAA compliance while improving slow page performance and supporting future growth. To meet these goals they turned to F5 Networks, deploying F5 BIG-IP solutions including BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM), BIG-IP Application Security Manager (ASM), and BIG-IP Link Controller.

F5 Networks implemented BIG-IP Link Controller for ISP redundancy, BIG-IP LTM for load balancing and SSL offload, and BIG-IP ASM for web application protection.
