Bezeq International Protects Customer Data and Adheres to Regulations Using F5 Solutions

Bezeq International, the ISP and hosting arm of Israel’s largest telecommunications group, faced strict regulatory and security challenges around protecting customer data and ensuring compliance with standards such as PCI DSS, Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA. The company needed to reduce manual security maintenance and harden roughly 30 web properties against threats like SQL injection and denial-of-service attacks, so it turned to F5 Networks’ BIG-IP Application Security Manager (BIG-IP ASM).

F5 Networks deployed six BIG-IP ASM devices on the BIG-IP 6400 platform across two data centers and complemented them with iRules and later BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager functionality. The solution blocked most attacks, prevented major compromises, enabled regulatory compliance, and used SSL offload, compression and acceleration to cut Bezeq International’s server count by about 25% while preserving fast application response times.
