A F5 Networks Case Study
Alberta Motor Association (AMA), a membership organization offering roadside assistance and other services, faced slow, process-heavy provisioning for its web team as it built staging, development, and production environments (about 40 VMs requested), while executives demanded strong protection for customer data. AMA was already an F5 Networks customer using BIG-IP LTM and BIG-IP ASM on-premises, but the organizational timeline—requests taking nearly six weeks—was hindering agility and growth.
AMA deployed F5 Networks’ cloud-optimized BIG-IP LTM and BIG-IP ASM in Amazon Web Services (using pay-as-you-go licensing) to load balance across availability zones and apply the same on‑premises ASM policies in the cloud. The F5 Networks solution enabled self-provisioning, letting the web team roll out applications in minutes, cut configuration time from two days to about 30 minutes, dramatically reduce IT workload and resources, decrease time to market, and pass vulnerability testing—positioning AMA to move more applications to the cloud.
