Whitsunday Regional Council needed a versatile solution to digitize and manage both incoming physical and electronic mail, as well as outgoing documents like various licenses. The council faced challenges with the variable quality of correspondence making OCR difficult and sought to improve the efficiency of its document registration processes.

The council implemented an EzeScan Capture Solution to automate the digitization of mail into its TechnologyOne ECM platform. EzeScan automatically populated fields by extracting data from existing systems and applied indexing profiles, drastically reducing manual data entry. This resulted in significant time savings; for example, processing property transfers was reduced from over an hour to just 15 minutes.
