BMW Deploys Touch Screen Object Recognition for Interactive Event

BMW sought to create an interactive experience for visitors at the Goodwood Festival of Speed to showcase its new vehicle models. To engage attendees, they partnered with vendor eyefactive to implement a solution using their touchscreen object recognition technology.

The solution from eyefactive was a custom application on a 42" multitouch table that recognized physical toy cars equipped with marker chips. Placing a model on the screen triggered animations and information fields, which users could then interact with to access real-time online content. This innovative use of eyefactive's technology successfully engaged over 200,000 event visitors with BMW's innovations.
