Boston Children’s Hospital helps patients find antivirals within 48 hours with Exygy

Boston Children’s Hospital faced the challenge of ensuring patients could access critical antiviral flu medications during severe outbreaks, when drug shortages made it difficult to quickly locate pharmacies with available supplies. They partnered with the vendor Exygy to scale their initial prototype into a production-ready platform.

Exygy developed MedFinder.org, a public-facing tool and dashboard that provides real-time pharmacy inventory levels. The solution was built to perform under heavy traffic and designed through a user-centered process. As a result, patients can now rapidly find nearby pharmacies that have their specific medication in stock, which is crucial for minimizing the severity of influenza symptoms. Exygy's work helped build a national infrastructure to improve the response to flu epidemics.
