Volunteer Ottawa, a major volunteer centre in Ottawa promoting and facilitating volunteerism, needed a modern Association Management System (AMS), a website redesign and tools to manage a volunteer pool, opportunity search and applications ahead of Canada’s 150th celebrations. In February 2016 they engaged Exware Solutions Inc to design and implement the new AMS, search and application workflows and a refreshed bilingual website.

Exware Solutions Inc delivered a job and volunteer management solution with intuitive forms, an advanced “on-the-fly” search tool, a copy tool for reposting opportunities and later upgraded the site to semi-private hosting for improved speed and storage. Launched in September 2016, the platform enabled 2,279 volunteers to submit 5,737 applications to 220 organizations in the first year, significantly increasing site traffic and volunteer engagement while earning strong praise from Volunteer Ottawa’s leadership.
