A Extreme Networks Case Study
Unisinos, a private Jesuit university in Brazil serving 30,000 students, faced an outdated network that could not support growing BYOD demand, e-learning, video streaming and campus expansion—resulting in slow connectivity, frequent outages and an IT team stuck in constant firefighting. To address this, Unisinos selected Extreme Networks and its portfolio (including ExtremeSwitching X8, X460, X440‑G2, X670, S‑Series, 3805/3825 APs and Extreme Management Center) as the vendor and technology partner.
Extreme Networks deployed a balanced physical and virtual architecture with ~6,000 wired ports and more than 700 wireless access points, enabling up to 13,000 simultaneous Wi‑Fi connections and Internet peaks of 1.5 Gbps. The upgraded Extreme Networks solution restored reliable high‑speed connectivity, reduced network management and troubleshooting time, unlocked new e‑learning and conferencing services, and freed the IT team to pursue innovation—delivering measurable capacity and user‑satisfaction improvements across campus.
