A Extreme Networks Case Study
Stevens Institute of Technology, a private research university in Hoboken, NJ, faced aging, mixed-vendor wired and wireless infrastructure that had reached its seventh year and required better security, visibility, performance, and simpler management. To address these challenges, Stevens engaged Extreme Networks and selected Extreme’s Shortest Path Bridging (SPB) Fabric for the core and distribution layers, along with Extreme Wireless and ExtremeCloud IQ for the campus wireless refresh.
Extreme Networks implemented the SPB Fabric and rolled out Extreme Wireless with ExtremeCloud IQ, delivering simpler configurations, AI/ML-enhanced wireless management, and a more usable dashboard—important given Stevens’ lean networking team and the hands-on support from Extreme’s account executive and sales staff. The deployment improved security, visibility, performance, and operational simplicity, enabling the Institute to meet current needs and position the campus for future enhancements; Stevens now recommends Extreme Networks for robust wired and wireless infrastructure.
