Radford College’s Deployment of Extreme Fabric Networking, Network Access Control, and Wi-Fi 6 Creates a Resilient, Secure, Flexible, and Modular Infrastructure

Radford College, an independent K–12 school in Canberra with more than 2,000 students on a 46‑acre campus, faced a five‑year ICT modernisation challenge to support a BYOD program, high device density and greater security and visibility across a sprawling environment. The College engaged Extreme Networks to replace legacy HP and Fortinet systems with Extreme Fabric networking, Network Access Control and Wi‑Fi 6 managed by ExtremeCloud IQ to create a resilient, secure, flexible and modular infrastructure.

Extreme Networks implemented Fabric Connect with ExtremeSwitching cores and edges, AP305C Wi‑Fi 6 access points and ExtremeCloud IQ for management and reporting. The deployment delivered three modular on‑prem data‑centre cores (with capacity to add more), a hyper‑converged cloud that reduced the previous data‑centre footprint to about 5% of its former size, reliable high‑capacity Wi‑Fi that can support 150–200 students simultaneously for NAPLAN testing, real‑time device visibility for rapid troubleshooting, and stronger, simplified security and operations.
