Port of Tallinn Fortifies Network Operations with Fabric

Port of Tallinn, the largest seaport in Estonia and one of Europe’s fastest-growing ports, faced increasing bandwidth demand, the need to eliminate interruptions and downtime, and a requirement for a scalable network to support more devices and services. To address these challenges the Port partnered with Extreme Networks, deploying Extreme Fabric Connect along with cloud-managed Wi‑Fi and ExtremeCloud IQ, ExtremeControl, ExtremeAnalytics and ExtremeSwitching.

Extreme Networks implemented a fabric-based core and cloud-managed services that introduced high automation, shortest-path bridging and hyper-segmentation. The result: administrative overhead was greatly reduced, core throughput increased tenfold, bandwidth capacity expanded to support more users and devices, and security improved with a 360-degree device view and role-based isolation—enabling the Port of Tallinn to eliminate downtime and accelerate future growth.
