The NFL faced the unique challenge of delivering reliable connectivity to more than 70,000 fans in a single venue so they could stay engaged and share their game-day experiences. To address stadium density and get empirical insight into fan behavior, the NFL partnered with Extreme Networks as its Official Wi‑Fi Analytics Provider, using Extreme Networks’ Wi‑Fi analytics technology.
Extreme Networks deployed intelligent Wi‑Fi analytics — providing near real‑time visibility into traffic, speeds and fan behavior — at venues including the Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots and New York Giants/New York Jets, and was first used at Super Bowl XLVIII. The Extreme Networks solution gave the NFL measurable data to fine‑tune network capacity and applications, keep fans connected and sharing, and demonstrably improve the in‑stadium fan experience.
