Mexican Research Centre Improves Network Security with Extreme Networks Switching Solution

CIAD, the Mexican Centre for Research in Nutrition and Development, supports 400+ users across 12 buildings and needed to migrate from a flat, manually configured LAN to a more secure, segmented and easily managed network without disrupting operations. To meet those needs, CIAD selected Extreme Networks and its Summit stackable switch portfolio (Summit X460 and Summit X440) to provide seamless migration, configurable security policies and simplified administration.

Extreme Networks deployed Summit X460 and X440 switches in 12 telecommunications rooms, implemented VLAN-based segmentation and DHCP policies across wired, wireless and virtual networks, and completed the rollout in three days plus one day of training. The Extreme Networks solution delivered measurable results: clear network segmentation that restricts critical services to authorized users, improved connectivity and response times with 10/100/1000 switching, and simplified management and configuration for CIAD’s IT team.
