Maynilad Water Services Taps Extreme Networks High-Performance Network Solutions for Expansion Pipeline

Maynilad Water Services, Inc., the private water concessionaire serving the West Zone of Metropolitan Manila with more than 1.1 million service connections, faced an aging network that was restricting new applications, automation and business expansion. To modernize its infrastructure and support new customer services, Maynilad selected Extreme Networks, deploying Summit x460 Series switches and the ExtremeXOS network operating system.

Extreme Networks implemented an enterprise-wide wired and wireless solution — including 182 switches and 71 access points across the head office, data center, 15 branches and pumping stations — to deliver higher performance, availability and role-based access security (RBAC). The Extreme Networks deployment centralized and automated management, reduced hardware and manpower requirements (lowering total cost of ownership), enabled new automation and SCADA initiatives for remote monitoring, and positioned Maynilad to scale services and respond more proactively to customer needs.
