King Chavez Neighborhood of Schools Powers Digital Learning

King Chavez Neighborhood of Schools, a family of five public charter schools in San Diego serving more than 1,500 students, faced the phase-out of district network support, mounting IT support challenges, and the need to equip every student and teacher with laptops/iPads. To build a resilient, serverless campus network and integrate multiple systems (security, HVAC, fire alarms), King Chavez selected Extreme Networks, deploying hardware and services including 510C Wi-Fi 6 access points, 5520 switches, ExtremeCloud™ IQ Pilot licenses (5-year subscription) and ExtremeAnalytics.

Extreme Networks implemented the new infrastructure and provided hands-on support during deployment (even overnighting replacement switches when needed), delivering ExtremeCloudIQ visibility and ExtremeAnalytics reporting. The result was consistent, high-performance, secure connectivity for roughly 15,000 school and personal devices used by about 2,200 teachers, students, and staff, fewer connectivity issues for a small IT team, and actionable analytics for board reporting and day-to-day optimization—measurable improvements in reliability and manageability driven by Extreme Networks.
