A Extreme Networks Case Study
Anderson County Schools, a K‑12 district serving about 4,000 students across 9 campuses with a three‑person networking team, needed to upgrade its aging infrastructure to support a district‑wide BYOD initiative, gain visibility and control over personal devices, and provide reliable 24/7 access to cloud applications. The district chose Extreme Networks and deployed the Extreme Networks OneFabric architecture using S‑Series and B‑Series switches, Mobile IAM, and Extreme Networks wireless APs & controllers.
Extreme Networks implemented OneFabric with Mobile IAM and integrated the solution into Active Directory to deliver dynamic, policy‑based access control, simplified wireless management (one SSID for multiple AD roles), and location services. The deployment doubled the number of devices the network could support without adding on‑site technicians, enabled an access point in every classroom to support ~30 devices per room, and reduced network equipment–related outages from 86 to zero—resulting in a stable, secure BYOD environment, enhanced learning, and lower IT support overhead.
