A Extreme Networks Case Study
Mount Wachusett Community College (MWCC) is a public two‑year institution serving about 4,755 students across a main campus and three satellite sites. Faced with an aging Cisco infrastructure that could not deliver campus‑wide wireless, increased bandwidth or support desktop/server virtualization (VDI), MWCC sought a cost‑effective network upgrade and selected Extreme Networks (S‑Series and C‑Series switches, Mobile IAM and Extreme Wireless APs & Controllers) to meet those needs.
Extreme Networks implemented a OneFabric Edge solution using S‑Series and C‑Series switches, Wireless APs & Controllers, Mobile IAM and NetSight, delivering over 90% WLAN coverage across three campuses, doubling access‑point capacity, and increasing bandwidth and visibility for IT. The Extreme Networks deployment enabled MWCC to move forward with a VDI proof‑of‑concept, improved network reliability and user experience, and provided greater control and easier management at a strong value.
