A Extreme Networks Case Study
Hardin County School District, a Kentucky K–12 district with 16,000 users across 26 buildings and a networking team of three, needed to support a large BYOD rollout while maintaining security, student privacy and state-required logging, plus better network and application visibility. They engaged Extreme Networks and deployed its infrastructure and analytics stack — including S-Series core switches, C-Series edge switches, 900+ IdentiFi access points, Network Access Control (NAC) and Purview application analytics — to meet those challenges.
Extreme Networks replaced the district’s legacy network and delivered centralized management, deep application visibility and secure BYOD access. With Purview and NetSight the IT team can pinpoint bottlenecks in minutes, monitor video bandwidth, block unwanted apps, and even identify unused software (saving the district hundreds of thousands of dollars), enabling five‑9s availability and significant time and cost savings while allowing three staff to manage 16,000 users across 26 sites.
