A Extreme Networks Case Study
Sydney Adventist Hospital (SAH), Australia’s largest private not-for-profit hospital, needed a responsive, reliable and highly secure network to support its 24x7 digital-care environment across a 100-hectare campus with thousands of devices and a small IT team. To replace fragile VLAN-based point solutions and enable automated, rapid device provisioning and mobile, virtualised workloads, SAH partnered with Extreme Networks and deployed Extreme Fabric Connect as the core of its network transformation.
Extreme Networks implemented Extreme Fabric Connect managed from a single pane of glass, delivering automated service provisioning, simplified isolation of critical systems (for example segregating blood pumps), and support for zero-client desktops and mobile BYOD. The new platform centralized management, improved speed and accuracy of provisioning, and enabled major clinical innovations — including the SanCare mobile app used by about 200 doctors over 48 hours and “five-second” patient-data access — demonstrating clear gains in mobility, clinical workflow and business continuity.
