Case Study: Green Bay Packers achieves reliable high-density Wi-Fi and enhanced in-stadium mobile connectivity with Extreme Networks

A Extreme Networks Case Study

Preview of the Green Bay Packers Case Study

Historic Lambeau Field is Brought to the Forefront of Technology with High-Density Wi-Fi

The Green Bay Packers, the community-owned NFL franchise playing at historic Lambeau Field, needed a modern high-density wired and wireless network to support mobile ticketing, mobile POS, the game-day app, security systems and other critical business functions across an 81,441‑capacity, 1,695,000 sq. ft. stadium. They selected Extreme Networks (with PCM) to deliver an end-to-end solution using ExtremeWireless, ExtremeSwitching, ExtremeControl, ExtremeAnalytics and ExtremeManagement plus PCM’s design, installation, managed services and analytics.

Extreme Networks implemented a customized high-density Wi‑Fi and switching architecture with creative AP mounting/enclosures, a single management platform and an in-person Wi‑Fi Coach program to simplify operations for the Packers’ small IT team. The deployment delivered ubiquitous, reliable in-venue connectivity (45–50% of fans connect at each game), enabled POS/ticketing/digital signage and scaled quickly to support the Johnsonville Tailgate Village and Titletown expansions — results the Packers attribute to Extreme Networks.
