High School Overhauls Network with High-Performance Switches from Extreme Networks

Loyola High School of Los Angeles, serving 1,300+ students, faculty and staff and more than 4,000 devices across 12 buildings with a networking team of two, faced outdated switches, limited visibility and poor vendor support that forced technicians to troubleshoot issues on foot. To modernize the campus network and ensure reliable access to cloud-based learning tools, Loyola turned to Extreme Networks and selected high-capacity S- and K-Series core switches, C- and B-Series edge switches, and the NetSight/OneFabric Control Center for centralized management.

Extreme Networks replaced switches across the campus and deployed NetSight to deliver centralized visibility and management; the result was rock‑solid performance, “zero downtime,” and help-desk tickets related to the network that “virtually disappeared.” The upgrade supports 1,300+ users and 4,000 devices across 12 buildings, reduced installation time via PoE, lowered energy and operational costs, and freed the two-person IT team to focus on other initiatives — improvements Loyola attributes directly to Extreme Networks’ products and support.
