A Extreme Networks Case Study
Hempsons, the UK’s largest specialist Health and Social Care legal practice with four main offices and 120+ lawyers, was struggling with a five‑year‑old Cisco network that couldn’t keep up with virtualization, VoIP, BYOD and tightening compliance — causing slowdowns, email delays and rising user complaints. After consulting with NETprotocol, Hempsons selected Extreme Networks and its OneFabric architecture (S‑Series, B‑Series, C‑Series switches and OneFabric Control Center) to deliver the performance, visibility and ease of management they needed.
Extreme Networks deployed a OneFabric‑based upgrade—S‑Series at the core with B‑ and C‑Series at the access layer and OneFabric Control Center for centralized, granular control and automation. The solution delivered 10Gb performance, simplified management for a small IT team, faster wireless/BYOD rollouts and far fewer help‑desk incidents, with measurable savings of about £80K in year one and ongoing maintenance reductions of £15–20K per year.
