Case Study: Baltimore Ravens achieves stadium-grade, high-density Wi‑Fi and enhanced fan engagement with Extreme Networks

A Extreme Networks Case Study

Preview of the Baltimore Ravens Case Study

High-Density, StadiumGrade Wi-Fi Drives Fan Engagement

The Baltimore Ravens needed a stadium‑grade, high‑density Wi‑Fi solution at M&T Bank Stadium (capacity 71,000+) to support mobile ticketing and ticket scanning, mobile point‑of‑sale, streaming video and in‑venue app content, security and incident management, and other mission‑critical operations. The team selected Extreme Networks to deliver the solution, deploying products including ExtremeWireless, ExtremeSwitching, ExtremeControl, ExtremeManagement and ExtremeAnalytics as the basis for a unified, stadium‑grade network.

Extreme Networks (working with PCM and ABcom) deployed a purpose‑built network—792 wireless APs, 81 miles of cabling, 42 telecom rooms and extensive Cat6A and fiber runs—plus managed services and a Wi‑Fi Coach program. The deployment supported peak unique users of 23,912, peak concurrent users of 17,259 and a peak adoption rate of 44% of fans, and enabled reliable mobile ordering, ticketing, live video and app experiences while delivering analytics (via ExtremeAnalytics) that improved network performance and digital marketing.
