Preview of the Global Managed Hosting Provider Case Study

Global Managed Hosting Provider Uses High-Capacity, Low Latency, Cloud-Based Networks to Deliver Exceptional Online Gaming Experiences

Global Managed Hosting Provider, a worldwide cloud services company for online gaming, needed to deliver exceptional low‑latency, high‑capacity cloud networks across more than 10,000 servers and 24 global points of presence (network utilization rose from 2.5 Gbps in 2009 to ~800 Gbps by 2017). To meet massive, spiky demand and strict QoS/availability requirements, the company selected Extreme Networks and deployed ExtremeRouting MLXe, ExtremeRouting CER 2000 and ExtremeSwitching VDX platforms.

Extreme Networks implemented a scalable routing and switching architecture (MLXe in the core, CER 2000 at regional sites, VDX for aggregation) that provides native 10 GbE/100 GbE performance, on‑demand capacity, low latency and strong QoS. The solution enabled the provider to support ~800 Gbps of traffic, sustain 100% annual business expansion, and continue growing toward a 15,000‑server footprint while maintaining high availability and stable user experience.
