A Extreme Networks Case Study
Glasshouse Christian College, a Prep–Year 12 school on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast with about 1,100 students and roughly 1,600 connected devices, was struggling with unreliable wired and wireless networking, poor throughput for audio/video, and management overhead for a four‑person IT team. To solve these issues they engaged Extreme Networks, deploying ExtremeSwitching (X690 core and X440‑G2 edge), ExtremeWireless AP3825i/AP3935i access points, and ExtremeApplications including Extreme Management Center, ExtremeControl and ExtremeAnalytics.
Extreme Networks implemented an SDN‑driven, end‑to‑end wired and wireless solution (EXOS X690 core, AP deployments, and central management/analytics), integrating with the college’s security and identity systems for instant provisioning. The result was consistent high‑density Wi‑Fi and reliable HD streaming as students move across campus, per‑student analytics, reduced IT workload and lower total cost of ownership, and a trouble‑free NAPLAN Online rollout — demonstrating Extreme Networks met GCC’s scalability, performance and management goals.
