Case Study: Prisma Media achieves a secure, high-performance, redundant and scalable network with Extreme Networks

A Extreme Networks Case Study

Preview of the Prisma Media Case Study

France’s Leading Magazine Publisher Deploys Tomorrow’s Network Today

Prisma Media, France’s largest online magazine group, needed a modern, highly secure and flexible network after relocating its headquarters to support heavy digital workloads (large graphics and video files), business continuity between two remote datacenters, and a stable high-performance Wi‑Fi rollout. They selected Extreme Networks, using S‑Series chassis (S3/S4), Virtual Switch Bonding (VSB), IdentiFi wireless access points and controllers, Netsight Network Access Control, and IP multicast support to meet these requirements.

Extreme Networks implemented a redundant, virtualized network linking HQ and two datacenters with 25 high‑end S‑Series switches (over 2,500 gigabit LAN ports and migrations to 10Gbps), VSB virtualization, two virtualized Wi‑Fi controllers managing 66 APs, multicast for TV streaming, and NAC for secure wireless access. The deployment delivered high security, performance and business‑continuity integration: 80% of switch ports support active users, Wi‑Fi now handles 450–650 concurrent users (4× the original), the switchover was completed in 12 hours with an incident‑free rollout, and Prisma Media reports stable, interruption‑free operations under the Extreme Networks solution.
