Flexible Network Fabric Animates Digital Content Production at Digital Animation Studio

Jam Filled Entertainment is a full‑service 2D/3D animation studio with over 400 seats across Ottawa and Toronto producing massive files and more than 2 petabytes of storage. Facing exponential growth, multi‑building operations and around‑the‑clock rendering workloads, Jam Filled needed to expand network capacity and move petabytes of data without downtime; they chose Extreme Networks’ Extreme VDX Switches and Extreme VDX VCS Fabric technology to meet those requirements.

Extreme Networks implemented an Elastic VCS Fabric using Extreme VDX 6940 core, 6740 aggregation and 6740T edge switches (integrated with Jam Filled’s Nutanix cluster), plus redundant 40 Gbps core links and a 10 GbE site link with separate fabrics for high availability. The result: instant file access, the ability to lose multiple links or devices without service disruption, elimination of overnight maintenance, simplified single‑chassis management, faster production workflows moving petabytes of data, and on‑demand scaling (up to a ten‑fold per‑workstation speed increase via license) to support future growth.
